They actually have multi Rom now, you can download as many 3ds games as will fit on the card. And your 3DS console needs to be running 4.1-4.5. So, it is possible that gateway 3ds flashcart ever support 7.0+ firmware? I feel like a fool for updating my 3DS to 7.0 firmware a while back. Does anyone here who’s part of the “scene” know if any flashcarts can support 7.1+ to play 3ds games in the future, or is it impossible?

3DS hackers are keeping it pretty quiet for the most part. Nintendo patch over with a software to updates every system of 3ds to prevent it hacked. The current flashcart-type hacks working on 3ds are software based. It’s simply that at this time no exploits have been found and used to get gateway 3ds card working on 3ds version 7.1+. It supposedly has one that works across all versions/regions, but is sitting on it to make it harder to patch in the future. So don’t worry, there will be one eventually!

Yes, they’ll crack it eventually, but it will just take a long time to become true, possibly not until 3DS gets replaced with the next generation handheld and direct Nintendo support for it goes offline.
